Hypnotherapy Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring about therapeutic changes. An external influence (the therapist) assists in activating the inner resources of a person (the client) in order to acheive realistic goals. . Hypnotherapy is becoming increasingly effective as a solution for many of these common issues. The first step in hypnotherapy is to decide what issue you want to work on. The information will be discussed and notes may be taken. The second step is the hypnosis itself. You will be led by the hynotherapist's voice into a state where your body and mind are relaxed and nearly asleep. You will be completely aware at all times and in a complete state of relaxation. Also awake, are the parts of your mind which the hypnotheraist is working with to induce benefical changes. You may experience visions, daydreams and emotion connected to the things being talked about. You may also experience the associted pleasant feeling. Remember that at any time you feel uncomfortable, you are always in control and can stop the session. The final step is the discussion of any experiences you had during the session.
